DEATH ANGEL premiere first new song in six years titled “Wrath (Bring Fire)”
Thrash Metal
Bay Area thrash metal veterans DEATH ANGEL have returned with their first new material in six years, releasing the single “Wrath (Bring Fire).” The track is accompanied by a fiery visualizer and is now available to stream.
Frontman Mark Osegueda shared insight into the song’s inspiration, revealing it was written during the pandemic in January 2021 amid feelings of anger, confusion, and isolation. Drawing inspiration from medieval and fantasy shows popular during that time, the lyrics depict an apocalyptic fantasy war intertwined with personal struggles and fury.
Mark explained:
"‘Wrath (Bring Fire)‘ is the first Death Angel song featuring the whole band to be released since our 2019 Grammy-nominated album ‘Humanicide.’ The music Rob [Cavestany] wrote, combined with the fantasy/medieval shows I was watching and my personal hell during that time, inspired this song. It’s about aggression and fury when feeling wronged, something I still experience today."
He also emphasized the song’s message of standing strong against deceit and unkindness, quoting Al Capone: “Don’t mistake my kindness for weakness. I am kind to everyone, but when someone is unkind to me, weakness is not what you are going to remember about me.”
Fans can stream “Wrath (Bring Fire)” now and witness DEATH ANGEL’s powerful return to the thrash metal scene.
