Finnish folk metal giants ENSIFERUM have released a new lyric video for their single 'Long Cold Winter Of Sorrow And Strife', taken from their forthcoming studio album 'Winter Storm', due out on October 18th through Metal Blade Records. The track is a heroic and atmospheric journey inspired by a fantasy narrative penned by bassist Sami Hinkka, who describes the album as more of a musical than a traditional release.
The song tells the story of a member of the Winter Storm Vigilantes, exiled and struggling to survive in a harsh, snowy wasteland until he is rescued and experiences a vision of his destiny. ENSIFERUM’s blend of melodic high vocals by Pekka Montin and epic folk metal instrumentation brings this vivid tale to life, continuing the band’s legacy of crafting grandiose and immersive metal experiences.
