Blending the nostalgia of classic rock with a fresh, contemporary approach, EYE AM are back at work, ensconced in the New Orleans-based OCD Recording and Production studio, pouring their heart and soul into a thrilling new album.
In their creative process, the band found themselves 'thrown to the lions', as Kirk put it. Even though the band members have been on each other's radars for a while, this marks the first time they have come together to co-create. Drummer Johnny Kelly expressed that while they've known each other for a long time, they are now discovering each other as musicians.
Facilitated by their mutual friend and record label owner Andrew Spaulding of Corpse Paint Records, EYE AM have harnessed their individual industry experiences to produce the captivating power rock ballad 'Dreams Always Die With The Sun'. Released on June 2nd, it has already surpassed 62,000 streams in just a month. The forthcoming album, imbued with influences from Black Sabbath and The Beatles, promises a melodic core of guitar-driven rock, sure to keep audiences enthralled.
Kirk Windstein appreciated Kenny Hickey's melodic compositions, acknowledging that they add a unique layer to EYE AM's music. Lead vocalist Kenny shared his joy in the creative process, appreciating the thrill of 'pulling things out of the void'. EYE AM recognizes the power of spontaneity, and it has become one of their defining attributes. This is evident in 'Dreams Always Die With The Sun', which balances composed structure with room for artistic interpretation.
Guitarist and vocalist Kirk reflected on the process of songwriting, appreciating the sense of achievement in turning an intangible idea into a tangible recording. He highlighted the group's ability to find a unique sound that works for them, moving away from their past influences and focusing on the synergy between the band members.
Each member brings a unique flair to EYE AM. Kenny's pretty melodic stylings and the band's spontaneous collaboration process are among the distinctive elements that define their sound. Drummer Johnny compared this dynamic with his past experiences in other bands, appreciating the spontaneity and abundance of ideas in EYE AM. This intuitive and spontaneous approach to music-making contributes to the authenticity and power of their sound, evident in their recent work and highly anticipated in their upcoming album.
With 'Dreams Always Die With The Sun' already making waves since its June 2nd release, EYE AM entered the studio towards the end of June, ready to complete their powerful new project.
