Heavy metal juggernauts LAMB OF GOD joined forces with Megadeth to reimagine a classic and break into uncharted territory. The result is their cover of “Wake Up Dead” from the "Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying?" album. While adhering to the original arrangement, for the most part, the song features a few signature Lamb of God influences, including D. Randall Blythe’s distinctive vocals, as well as a lead guitar solo by Mark Morton that meshes seamlessly with Dave Mustaine’s.

The track was recorded remotely, with both bands heading into the studio to lay down their parts before calling it quits for the day. Both bands played live as a unit on this recording, meshing together for two takes total over two consecutive weekends. Mustaine lent his signature vocals to this track with lead guitar work.

LAMB OF GOD has released numerous metal classics over its decade-plus history, and now the band – with MEGADETH – has reimagined a song that stands up there with the best of them. We think that this new collaboration will only help to further cement LAMB OF GOD’s already rock-solid reputation with their longtime fans, while simultaneously exposing new members of the metal community to their incredible sound. We should be prepared for some great things from them in the future.
