It's a blast from the past and into the future for Norwegian black metal icons, MAYHEM. The band is gearing up for the release of their live album, 'Daemonic Rites', on September 15th through Century Media. The album promises to encapsulate the band's intense touring experiences from the past two years.
As a teaser, MAYHEM has released a live video of the track 'Malum', directed by Zev Deans. The clip was captured during a performance at Irving Plaza in New York City on March 27th, 2022, giving fans a taste of the raw energy to expect from the forthcoming album.
MAYHEM's bassist Necrobutcher shared his excitement about the live album: 'We wanted to document how great the band and set sound after almost 40 years of playing live. As a treat to our fans, we decided to release this live recording. I knew from day one back in 1984 that this band was going to be outstanding—one of the best bands ever! I guess that's a big reason why we're still here after 39 years—and counting.'
'Daemonic Rites' is not just a live album, but also a chronicle of MAYHEM's musical journey. It features an extensive track-list from their discography, including hits like 'Malum', 'Bad Blood', 'Freezing Moon', 'Deathcrush', and 'Carnage'.
Adding to the excitement, MAYHEM has also announced their 2023 live dates. The band will be joined by Gorguts and Blood Incantation for a series of shows across North America. The tour kicks off on September 22nd in Nashville, TN, before wrapping up on October 21st in Louisville, KY.
Join the legions of MAYHEM fans as they take the live experience to a whole new level with 'Daemonic Rites'. The performance is just a click away. Stay tuned for more updates from the band and get ready for a one-of-a-kind black metal experience.
