The Richmond, Virginia thrash metal maniacs MUNICIPAL WASTE are back to subvert our expectations in a big way! The band's 7th studio album and Nuclear Blast debut "Electrified Brain" will be released on July 1st, 2022 and will crank up the old school havoc on a whole new level with pure and unadulterated speed metal. On "Electrified Brain," MUNICIPAL WASTE pile on more hardcore attitude and mosh-ready grooves to take their thrash sound farther than it has ever gone before.

The title means just what it says – we electrified the studio, cranked the amps way up, and brought in a brain surgeon on drums to perform open-head surgery on his kit (Tony Foresta - Municipal Waste vocalist)

MUNICIPAL WASTE present "Electrified Brain" their first album in over 5 years. In the wake of their critically acclaimed 2017 album "Slime And Punishment," MUNICIPAL WASTE is set to release their next masterpiece, "Electrified Brain" - an album that sees the Richmond squad devolve into their most feverish and psychotic form yet. With their usual pummeling riffs, NWOBHM-flavored solos, and insane speed, "Electrified Brain" sees MUNICIPAL WASTE returning to their roots of metallic punk. With nods to the past mingled with an eye on the future, "Electrified Brain" pushes the band further than ever before.

"We're not writing any love ballads to sell records" affirms vocalist Tony Foresta. "We're just doing what we've always done since the band started—and that's trying to write loud, fast, and ripping hardcore-punk-metal. We hope you walk away with some bloody ears, blown speakers, pissed-off parents, black eyes, and a healthy distrust of authority."

Recorded in Philadelphia with producer Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Code Orange), "Electrified Brain" is a high-voltage non-stop masterclass of neck-snapping thrash that'd be the ideal soundtrack for high-speed car chases and backyard steel cage matches as witnessed on the new track "Grave Dive".

"It's in the vein of songs like 'Headbanger Face Rip' and 'Wave of Death'" Tony notes. “It's an inspirational song for our fans to cause bodily harm to themselves, but in a loud and healthy way, of course."

Municipal Waste will hit the road in support of "Electrified Brain" beginning in April in the US, followed by a European tour with Anthrax in the autumn.

MUNICIPAL WASTE stands for pure energy and radical fun. No matter if breaking laws or noses, crushing Bass, or smashing guitars, the band is a walking hurricane of chaos. "Electrified Brain" includes 14 new high-octane cuts from MUNICIPAL WASTE, delivering their classic recipe of charming hardcore anthems to relentless thrash metal. Even though they never sound the same, no one can deny that they always sound insanely fast.

MUNICIPAL WASTE has always had their sights set high, but "Electrified Brain" proved they had more than just fast songs in their arsenal.
