The PATRIARCHS IN BLACK project was conceived early in 2019, by Dan Lorenzo of the American doom metal band Hades. The idea was to find musicians who have the technical ability and chops to play a variety of musical styles but still have a dirty, sleazy rock n' roll soul. Dan wrote 12 songs and asked his old friend Johnny Kelly (formerly of Type O Negative and Danzig) to lay down the drum tracks.

The debut album from PATRIARCHS IN BLACK will be released on MDD on 1 July. The nine-track effort features guest appearances from Karl Agell (COC), Dewey Bragg (Kill Devil Hill), Rob Traynor (Black Water Rising), John Kosco (Dropbox), Eric J. Morgan (A Pale Horse Named Death), and Dave Neabore (Dog Eat Dog).

After releasing two singles already - “Demons in Regret” and “Kashmir” - a third new track from the album "Reach for the Scars" is now available for listening. “Sing for the Devil?” features John Kosco on vocals. Watch the video below:
