ROCKSTADT EXTREME FEST 2025 marks the last edition in Rasnov
Born in Rasnov in 2013, ROCKSTADT EXTREME FEST started as a three-day event created by passionate fans to offer Romanian audiences a European-level metal experience. Over the years, the festival grew in scale and reputation, becoming one of Eastern Europe’s most important metal events by 2025.
As the festival expanded, so did the demands for space, security, and production quality. The Biathlon field in Rasnov, once sufficient, has become too small to accommodate the growing audience and the high production standards required by the bands. After careful consideration, the organizers have decided that the 2025 edition will be the last held in Rasnov.
This decision reflects the festival’s commitment to maintaining top-tier stage, sound, and lighting design, while ensuring the safety and comfort of attendees. The 2025 edition promises improvements in these areas, aiming to deliver the best possible experience for fans.
Looking ahead, a new, larger location has already been secured for the 2026 edition. The new venue will offer expanded camping grounds, a bigger festival site, and more accommodation options, allowing the organizers to fully realize their vision for the festival’s future.
Although ROCKSTADT EXTREME FEST will move on, Rasnov remains a special place in the festival’s history. Plans are underway to create a smaller, related event in Rasnov starting in June 2026, with the support of the local administration. Transportation between Rasnov and the new festival site will also be improved to ease access.
The 2025 festival will be a hard-worked, truly special edition — a legendary farewell to Rasnov. Fans who have been part of the journey or have wanted to experience the festival now have their last chance to join in this historic chapter.
ROCKSTADT EXTREME FEST 2025 aims to be the best edition yet, celebrating the community and the legacy built in Rasnov. See you in July, for the last time in this iconic location.
